Basic Charges:
- $50 service fee plus $25 per hour plus beverages for host (beer/wine only; food or liquor are at my own expense)
- Additional hours: $25/hour
- Maximum show length: 8 hours. Anything beyond that and you'll have to buy me a walker and orthopedic shoes
Additional charges may be incurred for:
- Karaoke Contest*: additional $100 flat fee, limited to one hour of the regular 4 hour show
- $50 cancellation fee if notice is not given at least 7 calendar days prior to booked show.

*Why a different rate for karaoke contests?
In my opinion, there is only one winner in a karaoke contest while everyone else, including the bar owner and karaoke host, end up losing. Everyone who enters and does not get the "first place" prize ends up disgruntled, often saying the contest was rigged (whether judging is done by independent judges, applause, or even secret ballot). Don't believe it? Watch American Idol auditions sometime; it really does happen like that in real life too. A percentage of these people direct their anger at the karaoke host or bar owner, vowing never to return. I've often heard from even those who placed second or third that they were "robbed," and they'll never go back to "X" bar or "Z" karaoke show. And, finally, those who don't enter the contest end up disappointed they don't get to sing as much as those who do enter.
It can be a great money-maker for the venue and the karaoke host for the duration of the contest. It ultimately ends up harming both of them though, since in the long run they end up losing customers.
Having made my stance on contests clear, I will concede that if you require a karaoke contest, I will do so for an additional fee. The bar owner must provide the means for signup, judging, and prize distribution. I will provide the emcee and karaoke services only. Please keep in mind that there will be other patrons who wish to sing for the fun of it but do not want to be judged, so the contest itself should be limited to an hour (maximum) of the total karaoke show.
